When in the Riviera Maya – Learn to scuba dive

One thing we love about the Rivera Maya is the direct access to the Caribbean Sea and the 2nd largest Barrier Reef in the World! Many people dream of going to Australia to learn how to dive, but with the Mesoamerican Barrier reef and large cenotes at your vacation rental door step, why fly halfway around the world?!

A great vacation is when you walk away having learned something new and scuba diving is a great sport to learn. We should know! One reason we were drawn to this area in the late 80s was the spectacular scuba diving. Jacque Costeau thought the same thing, so I guess great minds think alike!

Check through our Riviera Maya Business Directory for a list of local scuba diving centers who would be happy to finish a Try Scuba clas with you or complete your entire Scuba Diving certification. The Try Scuba class is one afternoon and has you in the Caribbean testing the waters. Full scuba certification takes 4 days and is a lot cheaper to complete in the Riveria Maya than back home!

Paulina is a crazy animal lover who has been living in the Riviera Maya for over 9 years. Her expertise is designing unique vacations for travelers and visitors. This comes from her desire to share her area knowledge, local restaurant secrets, and cool cultural experiences that have been a large part of her life on the coast. Paulina never sits still on her day off as she feels there is always something to see, a new beach to check out or a new restaurant to try. She loves answering questions and helping you plan your next vacation. [email protected]
