Riviera Maya Jazz Festival-The 14th Edition

RMJF

Winter is the type of season that locals are waiting for, and not only because of the amazing fact that we almost NEVER get cold but because December arrives with amazing events and parties. Among all of them, one shines the most; the one and only Riviera Maya Jazz Festival. This time the 14th edition of this wonderful festival, has first quality artists and we are all excited to witness the performances.

Riviera Maya Jazz Festival has managed to bring newer and more talented guests every year, the quality of great original music remains and this is how the festival has never disappointed. We still remember the epic 2013 that brought us Earth, Wind and Fire and this year we are looking forward to see Bill Evans and Fiusha Funk Band performing on Mamita´s Beach stage.

What to Expect

Mamita`s Beach

The ambiance of the event is simply the best; picture yourself on the beach, under the moonlight, listening to great Jazz music. Sand on your feet, good music in your ears and a cool drink on your hand. At some point everyone is singing and hugging, if you are not part of the craziness you will eventually. Riviera Maya Jazz Festival gathers a great quality of musicians and spectacular shows. Restroom service and food vendors are available during the entire night. There is also a temporary bar set up on the beach that offers affordable drinks for visitors.

If you are thinking this is some festival for teenagers, think again. Entire families arrive with pic-nic tables to secure their place on the beach. Kids, teenagers and parents enjoying the extravagance of talent on the stage. We are not going to lie, it does get crowded and crazy but it is a family event as well. So keep your kids close to you and arrive early to enjoy of the multiple shows.

Where, When And How

Mamita´s

It is pretty easy to get to Riviera Maya Jazz Festival location. The stage will be right on the beach, at the end of the 28th street. Mamita´s Beach Club will open doors at 7:00pm. We keep loving the fact that this event is inclusive and not exclusive, so you are more than welcome to join for FREE!   Now, this of course means that pretty much the entire Riviera Maya will be there. We highly recommend to show up early. Most of the families arrive around 2:00pm and by 8:00pm the beach is covered with people.

The dates of the festival are December 1st, 2nd and 3rd. It starts around 8:00pm and it usually lasts until midnight. Reservations are not possible nor needed but if you have some questions about the festival, do not forget to contact [email protected]

3 nights of great Jazz music under the moonlight on the beach and for free, can you ask for more!?
