As the end of the year approaches we discover more and more cultural activities where all family members are welcome. This time we are extremely excited to be the honored city host of the second edition of La Vuelta Mayakoba bike route. This Bicycle race covers one of the most beautiful spots at the entire Riviera Maya, offering to the athletes the opportunity to enjoy incredible and natural scenarios while supporting a good cause.

La Vuelta Mayakoba bike route will start from Mayakoba complex to Tulum and from October 14th to 16th 2016. Over 109 miles will be covered by the contestants during the two days and there will be pretty interesting stops at Tulum and Cobá ruins.

Majestic Route For The Athletes

All contestants will start at Mayakoba complex and will have to ride either 160Km or 75Km depending the group they belong to. The first day they will have both options and the second day the group will only cover 75Km starting from Tulum and finalizing the route at Mayakoba complex. The organizing team has decided that no more than 300 athletes will have the chance to participate in the race, to have a better control and make the race more practical.

La Vuelta Mayakoba bike route has its own charm, Athletes can expect to enjoy of the iconic Tulum and Coba ruins during the entire race. The first stop will be at Km 50 where contestants can drink water and have some fruit. At Km 75 finalized the first group who will be staying in Tulum. The second group will continue racing to Cobá until Km 120 to drink more liquids. After this all contestants will ride their bikes for the final race until they reach Papaya Playa Project in Tulum.

Requirements For The Athletes

In order to ensure a successful and safe race, the contestants will get a manual with the guidelines for the event. All of them will have to register as they arrive and follow these rules:

-Wear at all times the official Jersey with their number on it.

-Bicycle has to be in really good conditions.

-Helmet and gloves are mandatory, glasses are recommended during the race.

-No headphones, cameras or other devices.

-The controlled speed limit of 35Kilometers per hour.

There will be two different groups to participate, both will depart from Mayakoba complex and arrive to Tulum the first day. On the second day of the event there will be only one group that must depart the location in Tulum and arrive to Mayakoba complex to finalize the race. The first 3 athletes arriving from each group, will be considered winners.

Doing Good For Yourself While You Help Others

Tumben Xchu Pal institute

All profits from the tickets will be destined to support the Tumben Xch´upal Institute which helps single moms, pregnant teenagers and victims of violence in the region. The institute provide psychological, medical and educational help to the victims and offer accommodation and support for mothers and their kids until they can find a job.

La Vuelta Mayakoba bike route will start on October 14th with an opening party but the race will begin on October 15th at 7:00am and non-participants are more than welcome to purchase a ticket that will give them access to the event. For the Pasta party on October 14th during the opening, the cost will be $150.00pesos. The Tulum Sunset party at Papaya Playa Project on October 15th will cost $150.00pesos. Finally the Brunch party (closing celebration) at Rosewood Mayakoba on October 16th will cost $250.00pesos.
