El Cineclub Movie Nights-Free, Cultural And Family Friendly

Nothing in this life is for free, but some night clubs in Playa del Carmen might be the exception to this rule. For over three years now there have been really successful movie projections in Playa del Carmen and we are loving them. The concept it´s simple and yet so appealing for visitors who love spending the night at the beach and enjoy of a good movie.

Cineclub is nothing but a really clever nonprofit organization. They came up with a magnificent idea of movie nights for free and for everybody. With the help of certain collaborators the entire state of Quintana Roo organizes random movie nights that are FREE, offering independent good quality film projections. The schedule of the movies is regularly changed every month by the local business that work with El Cineclub

Quintana Roo Supports Cultural Events

La Ceiba Movie Night

This is not the first time that Quintana Roo develops a great idea to support local business by promoting culture. Just a few months a major event called Dream´s Art Festival also got us shocked by the incredible random paintings on the street walls. Many artists got together to share their talent and expose their masterpieces blowing the minds of locals and travelers. Well, now it is the time to give you a major tip when vacationing in Riviera Maya. These movie nights are welcoming all families and are perfect to make new friends, know a little bit more about Yucatan culture and enjoy of a good quality movie.

The main purpose of Cineclub is to create a platform to connect locals, travelers and people from everywhere in Quintana Roo state. Supporting independent film makers, local talent and to offer entertainment to people who don´t have access to cinema or cannot afford an entrance to the movie theater. This also creates new opportunities to reach young people and focus their energy on artistic and cultural activities.

Cineclub Project Offers Free Access

El Cineclub CEO´s

The team who created El Cineclub is a young couple originally from Mexico city who moved to Quintana Roo state. Thankfully many business have joined their project and are now offering projections at their facilities. Some of the companies collaborating are; Playahit (Local radio), Riviera Maya Film Festival, La Ceiba Park and of course Blue Parrot Club among other nonprofit organizations. These companies are now part of the organization and promote the movie nights to share Mexican culture with travelers and people of the Yucatan region. The nightly projections include independent films, documentaries, short films and animations.

Where Can I Attend To These Movie Nights?

Blue Parrot

The business offering their facilities, already have a schedule for the week: Blue Parrot movie night is on Wednesdays at 7:30pm, El Pueblito Mayakoba on Thursdays at 8:00pm, La Ceiba Park projections are at 8:00pm on Fridays and Sundays it´s the turn of La Culpa Gastro Cantina at 8:00pm. The access to these projections are always free and there is always the option to purchase popcorn, drinks and nachos at a very low cost.

Every location has its charm but with no doubt what we love the most are the beachfront movie nights that Blue Parrot offers. And no worries about the language, some of the movies are in English with subtitles in Spanish. Every location offers 2 projections (twice a month) and the schedule of the movies is continuously updated on their websites.

The Cineclub is not limited to local business, the organization is constantly searching for public places, parks and schools to bring the films and documentaries to everyone including kids. This also helps children and young kids in Quintana Roo to develop a certain taste and love for arts.
